Support the National Grief Advice Service – Donate Today

At the National Grief Advice Service, we are committed to providing essential support for individuals, children, young families, and communities experiencing loss. Your donation is vital in helping us continue our mission to offer advice, counselling, and vital resources for those navigating one of life’s most difficult challenges: grief.

What Your Donation Means

Your contribution directly helps us provide life-changing support to those in need. Donations enable us to:

  • Open the First Bereavement Wellbeing Centre: Your support is helping us open the NGAS first dedicated Bereavement Wellbeing Centre, a safe, compassionate space where individuals and families can receive face-to-face support, counselling, and advice. This will be a place where grief can be expressed and managed with the help of trained professionals, and where people can find the guidance they need to heal.
  • Offer National Help and Advice: Grief affects millions of people, and our goal is to offer support across the entire nation. With your help, we can continue to offer expert advice, online resources, and a helpline for those in need, no matter where they live.
  • Provide Professional Counselling: Grief can be an isolating and overwhelming experience. Our donation-funded counselling services offer essential emotional support, giving individuals the tools they need to navigate their pain and begin healing.

Why Your Support Is So Important

Bereavement is something we all experience at some point in our lives, yet many of us don't know how to cope with the overwhelming emotions it brings. In the UK, approximately 600,000 people experience a significant bereavement each year. Despite this, many individuals do not receive the support they need, which can lead to long-term consequences such as:

  • Mental health struggles: Bereavement can trigger depression, anxiety, and PTSD, leaving individuals vulnerable without proper support.
  • Isolation: Grieving people often withdraw from family, friends, and their communities, making it harder for them to recover and rebuild their lives.
  • Children and Young Families: Children and young people may struggle to process their grief and may not have the appropriate outlets or guidance. Without support, they may face difficulties in their emotional and social development, impacting their long-term wellbeing.

The Impact of Not Having Proper Support

Grief is complex, and its effects can be long-lasting. When individuals don’t receive proper guidance or counseling, the consequences can ripple through their lives, affecting their mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life. Bereavement is already a difficult experience, and without support, many suffer in silence—experiencing compounded feelings of hopelessness and despair.

The National Bereavement Advice Service is here to change that, we provide:

  • Counselling to help individuals process and work through their grief in a healthy way.
  • Advice and resources to guide families, caregivers, and individuals through the grieving process.
  • A safe space for children and young people to express their grief and begin their healing journey.

Your Donation Can Make a Real Difference

When you donate to the National Grief Advice Service, you are helping to provide a lifeline for individuals, children, and families affected by loss. Your support will ensure that we can continue to offer these essential services and make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Together, we can help ease the pain of loss and provide hope for the future.

How Your Donation Helps:

  • £10 could fund a helpline call for someone seeking emotional support.
  • £25 could provide a one-on-one counselling session for someone struggling with grief.
  • £100 could support our work to open and maintain our Bereavement Wellbeing Centre, offering vital in-person support to families.

No amount is too small to make a difference. Your generosity helps ensure that no one has to face grief alone.
