National Grief Advice Service: Support for Grief and Loss
At National Grief Advice, we understand the profound impact that grief can have on an individual’s life. Losing a loved one or experiencing significant emotional loss is one of life’s most difficult challenges. That’s why we are committed to providing compassionate, professional support to help individuals navigate their grief and find a path toward healing.
Our Services:
- Befriending Service (Nationally, Over the Phone or Video): Our Befriending Service offers a unique and personal way for those experiencing grief to receive emotional support. This service connects individuals with a trained volunteer who listens, offers comfort, and provides a compassionate ear. Befrienders are available across the UK, and we offer support through phone calls or video chats to ensure people can access help from the comfort of their own homes. This service is perfect for those who may feel isolated or unable to leave their homes, as it provides regular contact and emotional support.
- Advice Service (Nationally): Our National Advice Service provides expert advice on all aspects of grief, including how to manage emotions, practical steps to take following a loss, and resources available in local communities. Whether someone is experiencing the early stages of grief or has been grieving for some time, our team of professionals offers practical advice to help guide them through the process. This service is available via phone or email, making it accessible to anyone across the UK.
- One-to-One Counselling: For those who require more in-depth emotional support, our One-to-One Counselling Service offers personalised grief counselling sessions. Our highly trained and empathetic counsellors work with individuals to understand their unique grief journey, helping them explore and process their emotions in a safe, confidential environment. Counselling is available both over the phone and online and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual.
- Face-to-Face Support at Our Wellbeing Centre: For those who prefer in-person support, we offer face-to-face counselling and wellbeing services at our Wellbeing Centre. This dedicated space is designed to provide a comforting and safe environment for individuals to talk through their grief with a trained counsellor. It is also a place where people can attend group therapy sessions, engage in healing activities, and meet others who are on a similar journey. The Wellbeing Centre serves as a vital hub for people to access ongoing support, receive guidance on coping with grief, and take part in activities that promote emotional healing and well-being.
