My name is Karen and I'm so pleased you found me on the National Bereavement Centre website. I live in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire but travel up to a two hour drive to celebrate all of life's milestones.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a Huddersfield girl born and bred but moved away when I started at university. I had always dreamed of teaching and qualified back in 1985! My first career was in Primary Education, working in Norfolk, North Yorkshire and then back in West Yorkshire. I loved my job for 36 years but felt it was time to leave after we'd got through the Covid pandemic and life was returning to a 'new normal'. I have two sons and four stepchildren, whom I love dearly. I tell everyone I must have done a good job teaching them to be independent because they all live miles away from me! Thankfully, I am surrounded by great friends and a wonderful family and you'll often see me walking around the Holme Valley with my little dog, Bonnie.
