I am a celebrant with over 10 years experience of conducting funerals. I work in South Yorkshire, and find it such a privilege to be able to come alongside a family and help them at this time.

I first started doing funerals when I worked as a Pastor for the Methodist Church. I was somewhat anxious at first because I was very aware that I have one chance to get it right for the family. But I quickly came to love that part of my work and knew that once I left that role I would be a full time civil celebrant, which is what I now do.

I also work with individuals who want to plan their own service and write their life story in advance.

I love to put together services which are completely bespoke to the family in front of me. For some families that is a completely non religious service, some may want some elements of the Christian faith within their service, and others more.

I enjoy meeting families and hearing their stories about their loved ones...people are so interesting and I love being able to reflect not just a life story but the essence of the person in a service.

I am very happy to be working with the NBAS and featured on their website as one of the celebrants, because the conversations around death and dying, and the way in which we do funerals are all changing and it is important to enable people to be aware of the options they have, and in a way which is safe, compassionate, and normal.
