Coping Strategies

There are numerous ways in which you can support yourself through the grieving process:

· Try to establish routines to structure your day, including activities such as daily physical exercise.

· Find different support groups for people in your own situation, either online or in face to face settings.

· Continue to meet up with family and friends so that you can talk about the person you have lost and how you are coping with the bereavement.

· Avoid feeling guilty on days when you actually start to feel a little better.

· On less positive days, try to distract yourself, for example with physical activity, watching a film, reading a book, cleaning, walking the dog, going to work etc. You may well find that the next day is not quite so difficult.
